According to Wired, those crazy guys over at Smith & Wesson are planning on releasing a .50 caliber Magnum revolver. A quote: "we see it as an opportunity for backpackers... a light firearm of this caliber, in fact, provides protection against bears and other big things." I vote that we should start arming the bears to even the odds.
