Banksy managed to complete his month-long residency in New York without getting arrested—we think. Space Invader, the new street artist in town, may not have been so lucky.

Several reports indicate that the French artist—who also keeps his identity a secret—was arrested Wednesday night while finishing up a piece on the exterior of 90 Orchard Street.

The property owner, Mark Miller, wasted no time removing the piece intact and rubbing out any trace of the artist's work, a mosaic that hung over the Ernest Sewn clothing shop. Miller, who runs a gallery in the building, told The Lo-Down that he intends to keep the piece for himself.

He also told Animal New York that he does not intend to press charges, a polite gesture considering the piece could probably net him at least a few grand.

The NYPD could not confirm that any arrests were made at that location.
