Tonight at 7:30, a "surprise" concert will pop-up in Times Square, featuring a superstar lineup that makes us want to avoid Times Square at all costs tonight at 7:30. Kanye West and Carrie Underwood will both be performing, as well as U2. Since Bono was injured in that Central Park bike accident, however, Bruce Springsteen and Chris Martin will be taking turns fronting the band.
Is Times Square big enough for this?
According to ArtsBeat, this was all pre-planned in an effort to commemorate World AIDS Day. Bono released this statement, "13 million people have access to life-saving treatment, up from 300,000 just over 10 years ago. Americans don’t know the role they’ve played in this fight. Tonight’s event is to inform them and thank them."
If you don't want to deal with Times Square (the show will take place on the northern end), you'll be able to watch the concert live on YouTube:
