While it's not as exciting as seeing Mel Gibson run around town with a beaver puppet on his hand (what is?), Jim Carrey has been spotted in at least 3 boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island)... sometimes with penguins! The actor is in town shooting scenes for the movie Mr. Popper's Penguins, which tells the story of a businessman begins to change after he inherits six penguins and transforms his apartment into a winter wonderland. According to this blog they're in Park Slope today, where they've brought in some spotless white snow with them. Other Hollywood-in-New York magic happening during filming: Tavern on the Green is still up and running!

If you want to catch a glimpse of the action, they're at 8th Avenue and 2nd Street in Brooklyn until this evening, when they'll move to 62nd and 5th Avenue. (Men in Black III is also starting to film in New York, let us know if you see that alien pug around.)
