Take note, design and real estate nerds: those dreams of perusing someone’s Mid-Century modern Noho townhouse or updated Brooklyn Heights Gothic Revival are about to come true. And if you also have dreams of breathing the same air as museum bigwigs, architects, and designers, well, they can come true, too.
Dwell and New York Magazine have teamed up to create City Modern, a week-long celebration of design and architecture in New York. From October 1-7, the two publications will collaborate with the American Institute of Architects New York on daily design exhibits, panel discussions, and cocktail receptions, culminating in a weekend of swanky Manhattan and Brooklyn house tours.
City Modern events range from free to a $240 weekend pass, which includes every house tour and a Meet the Architects cocktail reception. Head over here to check out the schedule and purchase tickets to meet your idols and ogle their homes--and don’t forget to wipe your feet at the door.
