Occupy Sandy is bringing together some big names in Brooklyn Heights this weekend for an afternoon of acoustic performances. Tickets start at a suggested donation of $30 (with a 2 ticket maximum), and all proceeds will go to occupysandy.org to build the infrastructure to sustain our recovery efforts across NYC.

The show will feature sets from Real Estate, Vampire Weekend, Devendra Banhart, The Walkmen (Hamilton Leithauser, Walter Martin, and Peter Bauer), Cass McCombs, and Dirty Projectors (David Longstreth, Amber Coffman, and Haley Dekle).

The event, being held at St. Ann & The Holy Trinity, starts at noon on Saturday the 17th, and runs to 5 p.m.

UPDATE: The organizer of the event talked to the NY Times, saying, “Everyone’s doing this for free. People just felt compelled to be a part of the cause. These people are friends. This came together with 10 phone calls, 10 emails and 10 texts.”
