Just a month ago, people wondered if Saturday Night Live was playing favorites with the Democratic presidential candidates, with seemingly more pro-Hillary Clinton material, not to mention the terrific Amy Poehler playing the Senator from New York to the hilt. However, last week, the show poked fun at the Clinton's tax returns and, last night, well, see how Clinton is spoofed in a hearing with General Petraeus (video above).
Interestingly, Tina Fey told Entertainment Weekly that her seemingly pro-Hillary "Bitch is the new black" Weekend Update segment was supposed to end with "Bitch is the new black, but black is the new president"--the line Tracy Morgan used a few weeks later. Fey then said she's not ready to be Hillary's number one fan, "I think all of the remaining candidates are intelligent people who truly want to serve our country and...well, I'll keep my mouth shut.''
Currently, Obama is dealing with fallout after some poorly phrased remarks, telling an audience in San Francisco that voters upset with the economy "cling to guns or religion or antipathy." That gave Clinton an opportunity to call him elitist and "condescending, especially to those small town voters in Pennsylvania, which holds its primary on April 22.
