Last night TMZ was reporting that pop singer Gavin DeGraw was brutally beaten after a night out in New York City, noting he was still in Bellevue Hospital under observation. Today some more details come to light, with the Daily News reporting that DeGraw was intoxicated when he left a restaurant in the East Village at around 4 a.m. yesterday morning. On 1st Avenue between 5th and 6th streets he was accosted and brutally beaten by a group of men, after being separated from his friends, according to ABC. And his drunken nightmare didn't end there...

The singer then stumbled away and was hit by a cab at around 4:30 a.m., on 3rd Avenue and 19th Street, though he was reportedly not seriously injured by that incident.

DeGraw is said to be in stable condition, with a broken nose and other cuts to the face. Police are currently investigating, but no arrests have been made in the alleged beating. DeGraw has been touring with Maroon 5 and Train, and had to cancel tonight's show due to his injuries. Everyone light a candle and sing "Drops of Jupiter," and we'll get through this thing somehow.
