This evening, around 6:45 p.m., "a private Antares rocket built by the commercial spaceflight company Orbital Sciences will launch the Orb-3 cargo mission for NASA to the International Space Station," which, weather permitting, we'll be able to see from NYC. We've had better luck seeing rockets overhead here in New York than we've had viewing blood moon eclipses, so keep your head up and eyes open— notes that this is "the largest rocket that launches from the Wallops Flight Facility, and could be a spectacularly bright sight for observers."

Orbital Sciences Corp and NASA have provided a few viewing maps:

DCist will be on site, so they'll have the best view. For the rest of us, we can also watch the launch on NASA's stream, which is less cool.
