It's been a rough week for Law & Order: SVU fans: first, rumors have been swirling that star Mariska Hargitay might be replaced by Jennifer Love "Vajazzle" Hewitt (no!), and now, Rosie Perez is suing the show's production companies over injuries she received while filming a guest spot in 2009. Chung chung!
The actress suffered several herniated discs in her neck after being "forcibly shaken" by an extra during a scene she filmed for her Season 11 episode "Hardwired." The injured discs have required two serious-sounding surgeries (one of which involved translating bone marrow from pelvis into her vertebrae), and have kept Perez out of work for over a year, according to her attorney, who also says that Perez is "still suffering severe pain, numbness of the arms, and [will] never be the same despite the surgery." Her lawyer also adds that the extra isn't at fault, "He was just doing what he was told to do. He was the wrong person at the wrong place at the wrong times."
Last year, the actress attended a gala event at the White House in a wheelchair and a neck brace, prompting President Obama to tell her that she's "not that good" at doing her own stunts.
Here's a look at classic Perez, pre-injury, busting mad moves in the best opening credit sequence ever filmed:
