Today, super famous street artist Ron English became the latest to take over the Bowery Mural. The result, photographer Scott Lynch explained, is "an American flag composed of Ron English's greatest hits." Click through for a look.
For those new to English's work (c'mon, his Wikipedia says he's the "One of the most prolific and recognizable artists alive today"!), his work thrives on criticizing consumerism and celebrity. Basically, what you'll see on the mural are distorted versions of recognizable logos, and a lot of them.
The Bowery Mural is at the corner of Houston and Bowery, the wall is owned by Goldman Properties, and since 2008 (with the help of Jeffery Deitch) has been curated with large-scale piece by everyone from Shepard Fairey to Swoon to Os Gêmeos.
