While it's not on the official 2015 NBA All Star weekend schedule yet, the basketball league is apparently getting ready to hold a concert—and effectively shut down many streets—in the Flatiron District on February 12. Now there's chatter that the headlining "A-list" performer might be Rihanna.
The Post reported, "The city had told the local community board that it planned to shut down major streets including Broadway from Feb. 10 to 13, but backed off when questioned by The Post on Monday night, saying street closings will only occur for several hours the day of the Feb. 12 concert."

The city will shut Fifth Avenue and Broadway from 23rd to 26th streets, as well as 24th and 25th streets between Broadway and Sixth Avenue. The stretch of 26th Street from Madison to Sixth avenues also will be closed.
It was not clear how much the city is being paid for the event.
But the disruption will include moving 100 granite blocks and planters, a Citi Bike dock, two solar-powered phone charging stations and an information booth, according to a complaint to the mayor’s office.
Six lighting towers will be installed, as well as audio and video equipment. Forklifts will be operating near residential buildings and local businesses.
, "Organizers will announce the performer's name a week before the event and begin distributing tickets. Several Community Board members speculated at a recent meeting that the entertainer might be hip-hop mogul Jay Z whose club 40/40 is a half a block away on W. 25th street and whose company Roc Nation is involved with producing the TNT cable channel festivities."
Now Page Six says while Rihanna is being pursued (which makes sense since she is a Roc Nation artist) "We hear Roc Nation has been in discussions with RiRi for some time, but no deal has yet been reached." Could they have been discussing it a few weeks ago?
The 2015 NBA All Star Game is being jointly presented by the Knicks and the Nets—many All Star weekend events are being held at the Barclays Center and then the game will be at Madison Square Garden.
