After 300 episodes, The Daily News decides it's time to focus on religion and the Simpsons. As any devoted Simpsons viewer will tell you, there are religious references up the wazoo in each episode, but the Daily News's supposed expose gets a little lift by pointing out that the initial controversy with the Simpsons might have been a confluence of things: being an animated program, being on Fox, being so popular.
