2003_9_renewable.jpgThe Renewable Brooklyn concert is this Saturday, 3-10PM at the Prospect Park Bandshell. Renewable Brooklyn's mission is to take "the immense creative talent, spirit and energy in New York City and focus it toward creating a more sustainable way of living. One that links health, home and industry in cooperation for the community as a whole. The goals are to promote intelligently designed, non-toxic, non-polluting practices that use renewable resources and inspire the people who live in the five boroughs to become more environmentally conscious and active."

Lest you think the concert is an afterthought, the line up includes Out Hud, 2 Many DJ's, Radio 4, UNKLE, and Dan the Automator's Head Automatica and Handsome Boy Modeling School projects, one of the best line-ups for any concert this year, as New York Magazine says. Also, Brooklyn Brewery is selling organic beer, Two Boots has an organic menu, fair-trade coffee from Gorilla Coffee, and power from wind generators!

Of course, as with pretty much all things music these days, Coolfer told us about it first.
