We were remiss in not mentiong New York Is Book Country when Gothamist suggested some events to check out this weekend. Washington Square Park will be teeming with authors, readers, and leaves of prose, fluttering in the air. If there's one thing Gothamist would like to do more, besides sleep, it would be read, because we have at least five books that we're in the middle of. And we totally dig Ian Falconer's poster for NY is Book Country, with Olivia in between the Empire and Chrysler Buildings. You can buy it here, where you can also see older posters. And speaking of reading, check out Barnes & Noble for some readings coming up in October. Some that we're interested in: Carson Kressley (Queer Eye might be so last year, but we still love it), Jon Stewart (they say there will be a discussion! 10/8), Anthony Bourdain, Peter Bogdanovich...

For even more to do this weekend, check out Coolfer's Music Picks.
