The weather yesterday wasn't exactly ideal for frolicking around in the streets, but since the heart of Manhattan is bereft of cars only so often, plenty of people still came out to wander a car-free Broadway from Times Square to Union Square.

The pedestrians who took in a somewhat soggy Broadway were able to enjoy musical performances, hula hooping, arts and crafts, parkour demos and dance performances. Most importantly of all, they were also able to enjoy the act of walking around the city without worrying that a driver behind the wheel of a car was going to jump a sidewalk, or speed through a crosswalk in an attempt to barely beat out a yellow light.
