Will Radiohead play a secret shipping container venue in Brooklyn?

When Radiohead announced they would appear on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 24th, speculation instantly began that the band would add a show somewhere in NYC that weekend, since it would be a shame to come all the way across the pond and not play a full concert for the fans (or at least a secret show for Gothamist). But nothing's been announced yet—just another tee-vee appearance. On Monday the band will play four songs during a very special hour-long episode of The Colbert Report. Up next, a guest appearance on The View?

The episode will air September 26th, and Billboard reports that one of the four songs will be the previously unreleased song "The Daily Mail." In a statement, Colbert said, "I look forward to meeting the Radioheads and leveraging their anti-corporate indie cred to raise brand awareness for my sponsors." So... SNL on Saturday, Colbert on Monday... Isn't it interesting that Radiohead will be in town on Sunday without any scheduled appearances???

Madison Square Garden is currently undergoing renovations, so that narrows down the options, but if they did play a surprise show, it's likely they'd pick a smaller venue anyway. Last time Thom Yorke was in town he played at Roseland, and there's nothing booked at that venue Sunday night, so... start camping out on 52nd Street, obviously.
