It's all happening, the Queensboro Bridge is being celebrated for making it to 100! Last night some folks were treated to a fireworks show around 9 p.m. (pictured), which closed out yesterday's festivities (though there are many more to come).

Mayor Bloomberg and many other city officials showed up earlier in the day to take a leisurely stroll across the structure, which also hosted a parade of vintage cars (probably like the one Jay Gatsby motored over in). The Mayor told the onlookers that he was "Feelin' Groovy," a nod to Simon and Garfunkel's song, The 59th Street Bridge Song. Streetfilms was on the scene to document the occasion, and their video is after the jump. Did you know it used to cost horses (without vehicles) 3 cents to cross?
