Lonely Planet’s stateside authors and editors were tasked with choosing "the top 10 American destinations primed for a visit in 2015," and they crowned Queens with the #1 spot.

They declare the borough is "quickly becoming its hippest, but most travelers haven't clued in... yet." They credit microbreweries, new boutique hotels, and the art scene amongst its qualities, and note that the borough has "a truly global food culture" (it's true, we've even traveled in the pouring rain for some dumplings in Flushing).

What else? "A reinvented seaside at Rockaway" that comes with "succulent fish tacos, wood-fired pizzas, and wine bars." So basically, Queens is now Manhattan and Brooklyn enough to visit, everyone.
