The National Puerto Rican Day Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. today, with the marchers starting on Fifth Avenue at 44th Street and going up Fifth to 79th Street. This year's Grand Marshal is the amazing actress-dancer-singer Chita Rivera.

Here's the road closure advisory from the NYPD:

As during other parades and major spectator events, the public should anticipate some traffic delays and disruptions, as well as increased police presence, including specialized units and other deployments in the vicinity of the parade route and nearby transit hubs.
