Titans of rap including Public Enemy, Ice-T, and Grandmaster Melle Mel and Scorpio are set to perform on July 29th as part of the Coney Island Amphitheater's inaugural concert season. The show is part of Ice-T and Sirius XM's eight-date Art of Rap Fest tour, which takes its name from a documentary produced by the Los Angeles MC turned TV cop. Here's a trailer for the movie, which celebrates hip hop's roots and craftsmanship:

Also set to take the stage are Naughty by Nature, the Sugarhill Gang, Mobb Deep, Kurtis Blow, and EPMD, with Chief Rocker Busy Bee holding down hosting duties.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, or Thursday for subscribers to Sirius and the Live Nation app.

There are a lot of classic videos to choose from among this line-up's output, but here's EPMD getting serious about black empowerment in a park, with appearances by the Slave Theater, Jesse Jackson, and Public Enemy.

Oh, and if want to see Public Enemy twice this summer, they're playing a free show at Betsy Head Park in Brownsville on June 21st.

Tickets for the Coney Island show go on sale this Friday at noon.
