It's been almost a month since we first reported on the rare Mandarin duck that mysteriously appeared in Central Park. Since then, our feathered friend—which we have named Mandarin Patinkin—has become something of a celebrity. We dropped by today to check Patinkin out at his new spot near the 79th Street underpass, and despite some backlash brought on by the AMNH's Paul Sweet, the duck was still drawing a crowd. After all, if we're not watching the ducks, they're watching us.
While Patinkin was in the reeds, we did manage to capture the human spectacle, which created something of a Christopher Guest-Wes Anderson hybrid film. Turn the volume up & enjoy.
