A bunch of people have emailed to ask if we knew what was going on at the Vesuvio Playground on the corner of Thompson and Spring. The entire playground has been torn up, and hurricane fencing has been wrapped around the entrances on Thompson and Sullivan. A little research on the Parks Department website reveals that the work is part of a $2.6m playground renovation project-- so at least we know that a luxury residential tower isn't going up there. The parks department site doesn't have details on what's being done, or how long the work will last-- if anyone knows, leave a comment.
