<p>Jen DeNike's "She was dreaming of castles made of sand" won third place.</p>
<p>Tom Sach's team dug a hole to China and had to chase away naturally curious children.</p>
<p>Dustin Yellin's "bowl cuts" brought a barber shop and a bowling alley to the beach.<br/></p>
<p>Jen DeNike said of her sandcastle: "[It was conceived] through a dream... we had to use a little water... we piled up sand in the measure of the woman and then whittled it down, it was a reduction process... creating it was a form of meditation... the concept around it was that it was midsummer, really hot, and the castle represents the fantasies you can have."<br/></p>
