How did you spend your Sunday? I met a young man from France—I couldn’t quite catch his name, because we were a few feet from a bunch of massive speakers blasting Khalid—who arrived at Randalls Island before the gates of Gov Ball even opened at 11:45 a.m., immediately ran to the main stage front rail upon entering the grounds, and stood right there for the next nine hours until his hero came on. “Only for Eminem,” he said. “Eminem is worth it.”
He wasn’t alone. There were several dozen people up front who had similar Sundays. And when they had to pee? Well, that’s what plastic cups are for, apparently.

As for the rest of the tens of thousands of people who once again swarmed the festival grounds, the last day of Gov Ball 2018 meant screaming out all the lyrics to your favorite songs, falling down laughing with your friends, bundling up from the unseasonable cold bursts, waiting on line to eat photogenic food, passing out on the lawn, and dancing around like a happy idiot to the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, N.E.R.D., Billie Eilish, Chvurches, Vic Mensa, Margo Price, Aminé, Khalid, and Third Eye Blind.
