It's been six weeks since crews started to demolish 5 Pointz, the warehouse that became a beloved destination for graffiti artists and fans. Now, the wrecking crews have been making steady progress dismantling the graffiti mecca of NYC.

A few days ago, Paul Ker took these photographs of the Long Island City space. And it's pretty depressing.

It was nearly a year ago that the warehouse was whitewashed overnight. The lot will become home to, what else, luxury condos. The City Council approved the plan, noting 1,000 union jobs would be created, plus there would be 12,000 square feet of art space, 10,000 square feet of external panels for aerosol art, and 32,000 square feet of public space.
