After all the worrying, the cherry trees at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden were showing off their colors for the annual Sakura Matsuri festival. Don't worry if you weren't there on Saturday—there's another day of activities today!
The up-and-down weather had concerned some, but not the experts. The blossoms on trees around the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden have already come and gone, but the BBG's Cherry Esplanade is spectacular.
In fact, our photographer Sai Mokhtari says, "The bloom is just beyond peak and petals would rain down every time there was a gust of wind," creating a flurry of pink petals.
Here's the list of April 30's Sakura Matsuri's events—like a samurai sword demonstration as well as the Eighth Annual Sakura Matsuri Cosplay Fashion Show—you'll need advance tickets.
