Haven't I seen you on Etsy? (Photo by Julie Larsen Maher/WCS)

Not to be outdone by the Prospect Park zebus, the Queens Zoo has acquired a non-viral animal of its own: an elk. Normcore is still in, right?

This Roosevelt elk calf was actually born in Queens last month, and now joins the rest of the herd (five, total) on the zoo’s woodland habitat. According to the WCS, "Roosevelt elk are the largest sub-species of elk and one of the largest terrestrial animals in North America." That's soooo norcoremal.

Welcome, elk. We will celebrate you by wearing khakis and that thing with antlers we bought on Etsy.
