A large mural memorializing late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has popped up in the East Village. The work of street artist Michael DeNicola (a.k.a. Ink Lungs) and the Centre-fuge Public Art Project, the mural was painted onto the same trailer that hosted a tribute to Beastie Boy Adam Yauch following his untimely death in 2012. It's located on First Street between First and Second Avenues.

A funeral for Hoffman, who was found dead from an apparent drug overdose last weekend in his West Village apartment, was held on Friday. Many of the beloved actor's show business friends and admirers were in attendance, including Louis CK, Amy Adams, Paul Thomas Anderson, Mike Nichols, Joaquin Phoenix, and Cate Blanchett.
