The first really big act of Panorama’s opening day, Dua Lipa, was set to strut out on to the main stage in ten minutes, when they suddenly shut the whole thing down due to "severe incoming weather.” Migos, The Weeknd, Black Madonna, Father John Misty, Mall Grab, The War on Drugs, Yaeji... all rained out. Or, more accurately, lightninged out: the stages are made of metal, the ground on which they and thousands of people were standing was soaking wet. You can understand the problem.

People were angry, with lots of chants of “Refund! Refund!” (there will be refunds). The MTA was in no way prepared for swarms of people needing to leave Randall's Island all at once, and at rush hour — it took 50 minutes for the first M80 shuttle bus to even show up.

Today’s performances are all scheduled to go on as planned, but if you’re going, definitely don’t wear shoes that you care about.

There were some fun festival moments before everything was ruined by weather, some of which you can see in the gallery above. And if you're headed out there, here's what you need to know before going.
