The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team will be honored with a ticker-tape parade on Friday to celebrate their recent World Cup championship. On the heels of a growing petition and entreaties from the Manhattan Borough President and others, Mayor de Blasio's office announced today that the parade will kick off at 11 a.m. on July 10th.

The parade will start near the World Trade Center and continue down Broadway and the famous "Canyon Of Heroes" between the Battery and City Hall. According to the Mayor's office, "all are invited to celebrate along the parade route highlighted on the map below, and there are limited places available for those who would like the chance to attend the ceremony at City Hall upon the conclusion of the parade."

This is the first women's team to be celebrated with a Canyon of Heroes parade. The last time a Canyon of Heroes parade was held for a female athlete was in 1960, when Carol Heiss became the U.S. Olympic figure-skating champion. Here's a full list [pdf] of all 205 Canyon of Heroes Parades, for all the parade completists out there.
