Nearly a month after Instagram pulled her account by mistake after too many provocative (naked) pictures, Rihanna has struck back—by arriving to the glittery CFDA Awards basically nude. She wore a custom-made "dress" covered in 230,000 Swarovski crystals by Adam Selman. And it looks like there was some underwear. Thong underwear.

Rihanna, who abandoned Instagram after the dustup, was receiving the Icon Award from the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) for being "fashion’s most exciting ambassador in recent memory." (Fashion designers clamored to give her front row seats to their shows at Paris Fashion Week.) And she did not fail in titillating the crowd AND pleasing the awards' co-sponsor... Swarkovski crystals.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour presented her with the award, and Rihanna—who showed off her butt on the way to the stage—thanked the audience and her inspirations. She called fashion a "defense mechanism" and said it was full of "thrills... There are rules—but rules are meant to be broken!" In a backstage interview, she added, "It's every little girl's dream to dress up."

Tom and Lorenzo opined, "Girl, that’s not a dress. It’s body shimmer with a hem. But y’know? She nailed it. This was not the time to go small or demure." However:

We’re also not entirely on board with the panties. Don’t get us wrong; we’re THRILLED she wore them, but maybe trying to match them to her skin wasn’t the way to go. On the other hand, a pair of black or white panties probably would’ve looked worse. We’re stumped on this style conundrum, darlings. How does one camouflage one’s muff without ruining the line of one’s see-through dress?
