The pilot episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel premiered on Amazon earlier this year, and the entire series will finally drop there on November 29th. The show comes from Amy Sherman-Palladino, who gave us the greatest comfort show of all time, Gilmore Girls... so we can really use this right about now. (We could also use more episodes of Gilmore Girls, like we got last year.)
Along with the release date, Amazon has released the below trailer, and the above artwork—which gives off some Mad Men vibes.
Taking place in an almost Stars Hollow-esque version of 1958 New York City (though with considerably more swearing) the series focuses on Miriam “Midge” Maisel, who goes from an Upper West Side wife and mother, to a separated single mom and sudden stand-up comedian. "She charts a course that takes her from her comfortable life on Riverside Drive, through the basket houses and nightclubs of Greenwich Village," the press release notes, "as she storms the world of stand-up comedy... a course that will ultimately lead her to a spot on Johnny Carson’s couch."
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Tony Shalhoub, Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen, Marin Hinkle, and Rachel Brosnahan as Mrs. Maisel herself. You'll be able to watch it on Amazon on November 29th.
