After consulting with some sort of "experts," MTV decided they will not air the scene where a cast member of their already controversial reality show, Jersey Shore, gets punched in the face. The network had already been airing previews showing the punch (leading to animated gifs popping up on the internet), which was supposed to be in the episode airing this Thursday night. TMZ has posted the clip.

E! Online received a statement from MTV explaining: "What happened to Snooki was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing. After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context not to show the severity of this act or resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air Snooki being physically punched in the face."

The 21-year-old Snooki (aka Nicole Polizzi) was at a bar when now-suspended Queens gym teacher Dan Ferro clocked her in the kisser. He was found guilty of simple assault and is taking anger-management classes and had to pay a $500 fine. Back in August a Philadelphia paper reported on the incident, saying it took place at the Beachcomber Bar & Grill a little after 2 a.m., where Ferro had already been told to stop drinking by bouncers.
