Last week we posted about some photos of the World Trade Center that we found to be hauntingly beautiful. Some people objected to the use of the word "beautiful" to describe anything associated with the World Trade Center, and suggested other alternatives-- like the word "powerful," which we're using above. Kristine Larsen's before and after photos of the WTC raise many of the same questions-- they are certainly aesthetically striking and might strike some people as beautiful-- but we're not going to use that word in our WTC posts again-- at least not for a couple of years.
