And after all that fuss, the Feast of San Gennaro will be staying long, the mayor's office announced today. Come September 15-25th the street festival will once again be running all the way up to Houston Street.

Despite the length, the Mayor's office did offer neighbors one (small) concession. The mayor's office tells us that they “listened to both sides and now have a compromise of a modest reduction in hours.” So, this year the 11-day festival will be starting a half-hour later than usual (11:30 a.m.) and will end a half-hour earlier on Fridays and Saturdays (at midnight instead of 12:30 a.m.). The rest of the week the festival will end at 11 p.m.

As for that fashion show the Feast's organizers offered to complaining NoLIta shop owners, as far as we know it is still a go—even without the boutiques involved.
