matisyahu.jpgYesterday we received a number of emails regarding Hasidic reggae rapper Matisyahu. Apparently, the man has left his long time managers, also the founders of his old label - JDub Records. He has not done this for any higher powers...he's done it to move on to a relationship with the equivalent of a major label manager. The same man who "found" Nirvana, Gary Gersh.

Aaron Bisman, founder of JDub, was friends with Matisyahu at NYU. One started a non-profit label...the other started finding his niche as a musician. Their relationship was more than business, it was a friendship. Yet just a few days ago Bisman received a phone call from Matisyahu stating, "I don't know if you guys are old enough or have enough experience."

Since Matisyahu is cutting his contract short with Bisman by about 3 years, legal action will undoubtedly be taken. We wonder how his fans will react, they are certain to question his motives. One fan has a strong reaction.
