Robert DeNiro

and Martin Scorsese are going to collaborate on a book together about their filmic collaborations. Scorsese said, while noting that their working partnership grew with each film, "We came from the same New York neighbourhood but hung out on different streets." Which makes us think that at some point, a movie would be about young DeNiro and Scorsese growing up at the same time (DeNiro is 60, Scorsese 61), but running in different crowds. Mainly DeNiro being tough and Scorsese being asthmatic. Trust us, in 10-20 years, this will happen.

You can see Scorsese's love for his old Lower East Side Neighborhood in a short film he did for the Concert for New York City. And DeNiro has said this about New York, "I go to Paris, I go to London, I go to Rome, and I always say, 'There's no place like New York. It's the most exciting city in the world now. That's the way it is. That's it.'"
