The Bed-Stuy Banana created an urban gravestones map, which marks various R.I.P. murals with photographs of them. She also takes a look at some past opinions on the subject of creating these kinds of murals in New York neighborhoods, with a Villager article from 2005 recalling when one group "painted a memorial for a local drug dealer, 'White Boy John' on Southern Boulevard, the victim’s mother asked that he be portrayed as a gun-wielding dealer to send a message."
