Artist and photographer Steve Butcher documented Manhattan in the 1980s and 1990s, with a strong focus on the East Village and Lower East Side. Click through for a look at his photos from those neighborhoods, all shot between 1981 and 1984—a time he calls "the good old, bad old days."
