Al Gore is a VP again, of Live Earth - an organization/music event that he says "will help us reach a tipping point that's needed to move corporations and governments to take decisive action to solve the climate crisis."

On 7.7.07 there will be a global Live Earth concert which will begin in Sydney and continue across the seven continents, concluding with a show in (posterchild for a healthy environment) New Jersey (not that New York is much better). The show will take place at Giants Stadium and sixteen diverse headliners were just announced:

* Kelly Clarkson
* Akon
* KT Tunstall
* Alicia Keys
* Ludacris
* Bon Jovi
* Melissa Etheridge
* Dave Matthews Band
* Rihanna
* Fall Out Boy
* Roger Waters
* Smashing Pumpkins
* John Mayer
* The Police

We always knew it would take a global crisis (something "freezing over") to get a lineup like this on one stage, and can't wait for the inevitable "supergroup" encore (or to hear what Kanye will have to say)!

Live Earth is a multi-year campaign led by The Alliance for Climate Protection, and hopes to move individuals, corporations and governments to take action with this 24 hours of music across 7 continents. The concerts will be streamed live at and tickets go on sale Monday April 16th (at 10am) for the NJ show.
