It seems like just yesterday that Kim Kardashian walked down the lavishly appointed aisle with Kris Humphries (well, 72 days ago, to be exact), but today, TMZ is reporting that the fairytale is over: Kim has filed for divorce.
Rumors have been flying for weeks of an impending split, following Kardashain's agent dropping Humphries and photos surfacing of the Net moving boxes without his wedding ring. Kim is reportedly not seeking an annulment, and is citing boring old "irreconcilable differences" as her reason. (Don't worry—the prenup is still a go.) TMZ says Kim has hired divorce attorney to the stars Laura Wasser, who's seen Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Angelina Jolie and Ryan Reynolds through their splits as well.
E!, the network that threw a two-night "Kim's Fairytale Wedding" special barely two weeks ago, is also reporting the split, promising a statement from Kardashian soon. Ryan Seacrest also spread the news via Twitter, writing "Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins." Danilo Gallinari, you still single?
UPDATE 2:30 p.m.: Kardashian has released a statement about the divorce, saying "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage," she said. "I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
