A telethon/concert benefitting Occupy Wall Street offshoot Strike Debt will feature Neutral Milk Hotel's Jeff Mangum, and members from Sonic Youth, Fugazi, and TV on the Radio. Lee Ranaldo, Tunde Adebimpe, David Rees, Lizz Winstead, and Janeane Garofalo are just a few of the musicians, comedians, and authors performing for The People's Bailout at Le Poisson Rouge on November 15. The goal of the event is one of the centerpieces of Strike Debt: raise $50,000 to buy debt for pennies on the dollar, then release the debtors from their obligations.

Mangum was one of the many (and better) musicians to perform in Zuccotti Park last year. The event will be streamed live at www.rollingjubilee.org, but tickets go on sale Friday, November 2, and start at $25, which would erase $500 worth of debt. Spend $250 and eliminate $5,000 worth of debt. As of July of this year, Americans had $850.7 billion worth of credit card debt alone, with the average household owing $7,149.
