As David Letterman joked to Jay-Z about getting married on his show last night (previously recorded), in real-time the rapper was partying in Tribeca, possibly in celebration of his wedding. While there's no confirmation, all signs point to he and Beyoncé finally tying the knot -- something that has been speculated they would do all week.

People points out that the alleged bride, Beyoncé Knowles, told Cosmo in 2006, "I never pictured myself as a bride, but after my sister's wedding, I did start thinking about what kind of wedding I'd want. I don't think I want a big one." Perhaps the wedding was intimate, but the party on the rapper's rooftop last night had plenty of names, including two very important ones: Mr. and Mrs. Knowles, the maybe-bride's parents. Also in attendance were her Destiny's Child bandmates and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Reportedly the deejay hired, DJ Cassidey, had mentioned being excited for the couple's "wedding party," and earlier yesterday a white tent was erected on the roof as deliveries of party rentals and flowers were made (including 50,000 to 60,000 white orchid blooms from Thailand).

TMZ reports that no cell phones were allowed inside the party, but some details managed to leak. The Daily News, one of the many publications stalking the Hudson Street apartment last night, reports that "The theme of the party was said to be the number four. Both Jay-Z and Beyoncé were born on the 4th - Jay-Z in December 1969 and Beyoncé in September 1981 - so some speculated they decided to marry Friday on the fourth day of the fourth month."
