Is This Game of Thrones Author George R.R. Martin On The 4 Train?

Dashed Arrow Max Rivlin-Nadler

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin resides in Santa Fe, but he's originally from New Jersey, and it wouldn't surprise us if the dude rides the subway when he's in New York. This morning, observant straphanger Max Rivlin-Nadler noticed a man who bears a striking resemblance to the fantasy writer on the 4 train as it rolled through Brooklyn at 8:30 a.m. What would George R.R. Martin be doing dozing on the rush hour subway on a Tuesday morning in New York City? How should we know—that's what the comments section is for!

The last entry from Martin's LiveJournal (aw) was published April 12th, from Santa Fe. We don't know if he's still there or if he's in New York, but this guy really has the Martin look down, all the way to the black cap and glasses. Sure, he looks a little slimmer than we remember Martin, and the hair is significantly longer than Martin's was on the red carpet a month ago, but look at that coat—practically identical. Our current theory is that if this isn't Martin, it's got to be someone impersonating the author to pick up women.

And here "he" is on the bus. What's next, the Staten Island ferry?
