The fifth annual Brooklyn Comedy Festival kicks off Monday August 21st with performances by T.J. Miller, Ilana Glazer, Bob the Drag Queen, Wyatt Cenac, Roy Wood Jr, Mark Normand, Matteo Lane, Sasheer Zamata, Hari Kondabolu, Aparna Nancherla, Dave Hill, Jo Firestone, plus more.

Comedy films will screen all week long at Nitehawk Cinema in Williamsburg. Wednesday and Thursday nights will feature showcases on the terrace of The Willam Vale in collaboration with Paste Magazine and Gothamist, respectively. (Grab tickets to the Gothamist show here!)

Thursday events start early with a Jameson Happy Hour at Knitting Factory from 6pm-8pm. The first 100 people to arrive for Elite Daily’s Generation Why?! 8pm comedy showcase will receive a token for a free Jameson Caskmates + beer.

On Friday afternoon parents can take children to the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. in Park Slope for the festival’s kids workshop. Friday night Refinery29’s comedy arm RIOT will bring their series After After Party live to the stage at Littlefield.

On Saturday afternoon at Knitting Factory the festival’s Writers Panel will be focused on diversity in late night writing and is sponsored by NBC. That evening there is also a very special closing night Surprise Party Comedy Show! at the Brooklyn Bazaar to celebrate the festival turning 5-years old.

Brooklyn Comedy Festival started in 2013 and has quickly become one of the premiere comedy events in NYC, bringing in performers of every level and discipline from all over the country and world. More info can be found on the festival's official website.
