While under oath testifying against his former client Britney Spears yesterday, Sam Lufti slipped this out about an unrelated current client: “[Courtney Love and I] are currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue, based on her life and Kurt Cobain’s."
Lufti is reportedly Love's co-manager, and the Daily News reports that "after court Lutfi tried to backpedal about the plan," but another source told them, “She’s been talking about doing a movie or play about her life with Kurt [Cobain] for a long time. So far, nothing has materialized from it. it’s been her dream to get her side of the story out." Neither Love or Lufti had Tweeted since the 22nd.
As unapologetic Courtney Love and Hole fans, we don't totally recoil at this idea. After all, wack slacks and fuzz will hit the Great White Way one day*, and isn't it best if Love is the one to bring it there? If not her, and if not now... don't you just feel like bringing grunge to Broadway is the only thing left for Gavin Rossdale to do?
We've reached out to Love and will update if we hear back.
