For the third installment of our ongoing "while you were sleeping" series, showing New York City neighborhoods just before the sun rises, we're looking at the Financial District.

Photographer Gretchen Robinette documented the neighborhood during those mysterious hours when New York City seems to be... asleep. She shot over the course of two early mornings, from around 4:45 a.m. to 6:45 a.m., noting the area was pretty empty and eerie during that time. Click through for a look—naturally, there were still tourists out taking photos with the bull.
