Last week, Gothamist confirmed rumors that Tame Impala, Vampire Weekend, Stevie Nicks, Solange and Miley Cyrus would all be playing Governors Ball 2020. Now, the full lineup for this year's festival, which takes place in June, has been released. Check it out below.
In addition to the artists we highlighted before, the biggest addition is the one-and-only Missy Elliott, who will be performing her first major NYC headline show in over a decade. Other major artists playing the fest include electronic performer Flume, psychedelic-tinged instrumental wizards Khruangbin, pop superhero Carly Rae Jepsen, beloved local rapped Princess Nokia, R&B star H.E.R., The Internet's supremely talented guitarist/producer/singer Steve Lacy, and English singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding.
Also worth noting: Danny Brown, Swae Lee and YBN Cordae are all pretty great hip-hop artists farther down on the lineup, and Snail Mail, Frankie Cosmos and Jay Som have released some of the best indie rock albums in recent years. Fontaines D.C., Black Midi and Pup are all great rock (or rock-adjacent) bands as well.
Governors Ball 2020 will take place at Randall’s Island Park from June 5th-7th. Three-day GA and VIP tickets (including payment plan options) will be available via GovBall.com beginning Friday, January 17th at noon. The headliners and day-by-day lineups will be announced in the coming weeks. One last thing to note: this year the festival is instituting an 18+ age policy, so at least you won't feel TOO self-conscious while getting down to "The Rain," which maybe came out when you were in middle school...or high school...or college...
