UPDATE: In November of 1971 LIFE magazine ran an article and photo spread on crime in the city, specifically on the Upper East Side, and more specifically on East 78th Street. The cover read: The Cities Lock Up: Fear of Crime Creates A Lifestyle Behind Steel.
